Privacy policy

What we collect

• Login details: your email and WhatsApp number (and name and photo if you use Google).
• What you give us: your name, phone number and notes when you request a workshop seat or send a corporate enquiry; your saved items.
• Makers: studio details, photos, city and story are shown publicly. Your WhatsApp number, pincode and UPI ID stay private until you share them with a buyer.
• Reviews: the name you choose, your rating and your words, shown publicly on the studio page after we check them. You can edit or delete your review.
• Studios (private): legal name, address and UPI ID, seen only by the studio and our team; the UPI ID is shared with a buyer only when the studio shares its contact in a chat.
• WhatsApp number you verify: used to confirm it's you and for order updates; studios only see that it's verified, not the number, unless you share it yourself.
• Studio ID for the Verified badge (optional): stored privately, seen only by our team, and deleted once we've checked it. We don't accept full Aadhaar numbers.
• Messages and order requests between you and a studio, seen only by the two of you and, when a problem is reported, our team.
• Usage counts: anonymous counts of views and taps on studios and products, with the city you chose. We do not store your contact details with these counts.
• Your chosen city and language are stored on your device.
• Website analytics and ads: we use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel to understand which pages are useful and where visitors get stuck (pages viewed, rough location, device, and anonymised clicks and scrolling). They use cookies. Passwords and form fields are never recorded. The Meta Pixel helps us measure and show our ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who visited the site.

Why we use it

• To log you in and keep your account safe.
• To pass your seat request or enquiry to the maker or our team.
• To show makers how many people viewed or contacted their studio.
• To keep the platform safe and meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

• The maker you contact or request a seat from (your name, phone, number of people and note).
• Service providers who run the platform for us: Supabase (database and login), Hostinger (hosting and email), Google (Google login and Google Analytics), Microsoft (Clarity), Meta (WhatsApp codes and the Meta Pixel) and Razorpay (studio plan payments, when used). They process data only on our instructions.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.
• We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. Workshop requests are kept for 2 years for records, then deleted. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

Write to mohit@craftedgiftfair.com with the subject "Privacy request". We respond within 30 days.

• Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update your data (you can edit your name and studio details yourself).
• Withdraw consent and ask us to delete your data / account.
• Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
• Complain to our Grievance Officer, and if not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

The platform is meant for adults. Workshops for children must be requested by a parent or guardian.

Security

Data is stored with access rules so makers can see only their own requests and buyers only their own. No method is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
